Monday night several area boys cross country teams traveled to Kickers Park in Iowa City to compete at Clear Creek Amana’s Clipper Cross Country Classic.
. Mid-Prairie took home the team championship with their score of 23 points. The Golden Hawks finished with the top three runners in the race led by meet champion Peyton Miller with a time of 16:58. Floyd Evans was second and Zach Pettit was third, Quinn Schmidt was seventh, Andrew Schwartz 10th and Brent Foster 11th.
Columbus took fifth as a team with their score of 152 points. The Wildcats were led by Marc Estrada in 27th with a time of 19:33. Other finishers for Columbus included Hunter Humiston 31st, Armando Quiroz 41st, Chepo Cardenas 46th, James Rivera 49th, Erick Canterero 50th, and Angel Madriz 58th.
Winfield-Mt. Union was seventh out of eight teams with a score of 174 points. Brock Fricke was the top finisher for the Wolves, taking 19th in a time of 18:45. Other finishers for WMU included Asa Gipple 37th, Kolten Buster 53rd, Jackson Brown 60th, Kane Harris 67th and Nolan Ross 75th.
The WACO Warriors finished in eighth as a team with their score of 239 points. Top finisher for WACO was John Skriver in 55th with a time of 21:39. Other finishers for the Warriors included Joe Edeker in 76th, Tanner Conwell 82nd, Trevor Pategas 86th, Beau Beckler 92nd, and Roman Kieffer 93rd.
