Drought conditions were cut in half from last week to this week in Iowa. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, last week 12.17% of Iowa was abnormally dry and just over one percent was in moderate drought, but this week only 5.96% of the state is abnormally dry. The sections that are abnormally dry are in the far northwest corner and in southcentral Iowa.
The Midwest as a whole saw drought conditions lessen slightly to 10.14% abnormally dry and nearly two percent in moderate drought, mostly in Ohio and Michigan. Locally partly sunny skies are in the forecast, listen to KCII for weather updates.
