Washington’s two-time state golf champion says she used her summer vacation to help improve her game. Junior Sarah Nacos was the featured guest on last week’s PM Sports Page, talking about her involvement in Iowa Junior PGA and American Junior Golf Association tournaments this summer.
Nacos told KCII Sports in June of her desire to play golf in college, and said she used the summer to improve the yardage she is accumulating off her tee shot. She says all the tournaments she’s played since the state championship have had her teeing off the men’s tees, helping her practice longer tee shots.
Nacos played eight Iowa Junior PGA events this summer, winning four tournaments. Her last first place finish came during the Iowa PGA Junior Cedar Rapids Tournament on July 13.
