Head coach Danny Hershberger and the Iowa Mennonite School baseball team finished 2016 with a 6-14 overall record.

Their best stretch of the season came at the beginning of the year when they started conference play at 3-2. They were also champions of the 2016 IMS Classic with wins over Danville and Keokuk. IMS was 15th in the Southeast Iowa Superconference with a .270 team batting average. Their 89 RBI were 13th in the league, their 111 runs scored were also 13th.

On the mound, their 4.72 team ERA was 12th best in the SEISC. IMS pitching recorded 118 strikeouts, 12th best in the conference. They allowed just 152 hits, third fewest in the conference.

Individually, at the plate IMS was led by Drake Brezina with his .358 average. His 19 RBI were best on the team. Cole Ours scored a team best 19 runs. Brezina led IMS on the hill with his 2.63 ERA. He struck out a team high 53 batters. Blake Bontrager finished with a team best two wins. IMS ended their season in the first round of district play.
