RAGBRAI brought thousands of visitors to Washington County and with that many food vendors, each of which had to be inspected by Washington County Environmental Health for the event. Jason Taylor with the department shared it was a busy time for their office, but overall a success. Supervisor Jack Seward added they prevented any potential food poisoning and none was reported. In total there were 43 food vendors in Washington County for RAGBRAI – 37 were licensed, six were illegal vendors but got their licenses the day of the event, and one vendor left the county instead of getting a license.
