On Tuesday, September 20th, a special election will be held in Ward 2 of Washington. The election will be to select a new city council member to fill the seat vacated by Russ Zieglowsky. At this week’s Washington City Council meeting a petition was given to the mayor requesting the special election; initially the council was going to appoint someone to fill the remainder of the term. Anyone from Ward 2 who wishes to be on the ballot must submit nomination papers with at least 25 signatures to the Washington County Auditor’s Office. The special election will be held September 20th from noon to 8 p.m. at the Central Park Community Center.
