Next Tuesday, Mid-Prairie schools will be hosting a transportation open house. Transportation Director Steve Hollan says it’s an opportunity for parents and students to meet all the bus drivers so everyone can feel comfortable heading into the school year. Parents will also be able to check on morning pickup and afternoon drop off times for their children. Hollan said they’ve been doing this for several years and feels it’s important because they frequently get emails and calls from parents who are nervous about putting their kids on the bus, especially from parents sending kids to school for the first time. With the open house, he feels they can alleviate stress and tension by introducing drivers to students, so they’re no longer strangers. Transportation night will run from 5:30-7:30 p.m. August 16th in the high school cafeteria.
