The Washington County Communications dispatchers have been working three different shifts all at a consistent pay rate, but that’s now changing. Monday the Washington County Board of Supervisors acknowledged personnel change requests for all of the employees of the communications office so that second shift has a higher pay rate by 35 cents over first shift, and third shift is another 15 cents higher per hour. County Auditor Dan Widmer shared if someone exceeds 40 hours and receives overtime pay, it will be at the rate for the shift they were working when they exceeded 40 hours. So, if the dispatcher hits 40 hours during the second shift, then the pay will reflect the second shift rate. The pay rate is retroactive and will go with the start of the fiscal year – July 1st, 2016.
