RAGBRAI will be entering Columbus Junction tomorrow, and organizer Brooklyn Milder said things are coming together. Today they will be hanging signs on the way into the city, to get the riders ready for what they’re going to find. Among the attractions is the swinging bridge, though Milder says they won’t be able to ride their bikes across it for safety reasons. She added they’re welcome to park their bikes and walk across the bridge, but given the number of people in the race, they felt it was unsafe to have them take their bikes over it.
The Louisa County Fair will be going on in Columbus Junction until Friday, but Milder believes they’re prepared to make the transition from that to RAGBRAI without much difficulty. Additionally, she feels a lot of people will stick around after the fair to see the riders come through, and to help with the event.
