Films that once belonged to a Washington couple at the turn of the century will be shown in Washington County this weekend. The Brinton films will be shown during the 20th annual film festival in Ainsworth this Friday and Saturday. Local historian and retired Washington history teacher Michael Zahs recently showed the films at a festival in Bologna, Italy. He tells KCII News he’s hoping to show some of what was presented in Italy this weekend.

Some of the Brinton collection to be viewed at the Ainsworth Opera House are significant because they are some of the first colored films, they were hand painted in Europe. Tickets are not needed and an ice cream social will be held from 7 to 7:45 p.m. followed by the films. For the full interview with Zahs visit KCIIRadio.com.
