Iowa Mennonite School junior Drake Brezina had a great year on the baseball diamond, both in the batter’s box and on the mound.
Brezina led IMS on the mound throwing 37 innings on the season with an ERA of 2.63, that mark was 10th best in the Southeast Iowa Superconference. His 53 strikeouts were also best on the team and 10th best in the conference while his batting average against was .192, 10th best in the SEISC and best on the team.
At the plate, Brezina led Iowa Mennonite with a .358 average and .537 slugging percentage. His 24 total hits were also best on the squad, as were his 19 RBI. Brezina was a second team All-Conference infield selection. IMS ended the year with a 6-14 record.
