Keota School board member Naomi Greiner was recently hired as a teacher at Keota Elementary, and had to resign from the board. This left an opening on the board and Superintendent Dennis Phelps said Aaron Sieren was the only person interested in the position. His name was brought to the board at their most recent meeting, and they voted to appoint him. Sieren wasn’t in attendance at the meeting, so he’ll be sworn in at the August board meeting. Sieren’s appointment will run until the next school board election in the fall of 2017, where he can run for election.
