A two-vehicle crash on Highway 1 happened Saturday night south of Kalona in the 1300 block of the road. According to the Washington County Communications department, at 11:16 p.m. the collision occurred south of the Appliance Barn with a Toyota Camry and a Chevrolet Lumina and the Lumina left the scene. There was over $1,500 in damage. The drivers involved were Ryan Harapat of Kalona and Allen Young of Wellman. Young was cited for unsafe approach to a stationary vehicle. No injuries were reported.
