A 2013 Washington High School graduate was named first runner-up in the 2016 Miss Iowa Scholarship Program. Johannah Vittetoe finished as first runner-up and took part in the program as Miss Scott County. Vittetoe received the people’s choice award, the Miss America community service award, and the Miracle Maker Award for the contestant who raises the most money for the Children’s Miracle Network. Vittetoe was also the lifestyle and fitness preliminary winner. Last year she was fourth runner-up in the competition.
The 2016 Miss Iowa is Kelly Koch of Waukee.
Vittetoe is a student at Iowa State University and is studying elementary education.
