At their most recent meeting the Washington City Council approved change orders on three projects. The projects with the changes are the business park, court house sewer separation and the Lexington lift station. City Administrator Brent Hinson explained the change at the business park were due in part to the contract for construction coming in about $400,000 under budget, so they examined extending the project scope while the crew is there. They will extend the paving of Buchanan and utilities in further, with a $265,000 change order. He added this will make more lots shovel ready.
The court house sewer project change order adds about $10,500 to the project due to a design error where the pipe comes in lower than the receiving structure and needs to be altered. The final change order at the lift station is $9,280.04, and the project had an $8,000 contingency fund.
