Tonight the Washington City Council will meet in a special session. The agenda includes discussion and consideration of proceeding with a YMCA bond referendum. At last week’s meeting, the council voted to talbe a decision until tonight’s meeting. The council has had public input at meetings on both sides of the issue, some for a bond referendum and some against it. At last week’s meeting, City Administrator Brent Hinson said should the council want to stay on schedule for an August vote a decision will need to be made at tonight’s meeting to move forward.
Tonight the council will also consider a solid waste request for proposal for fiscal years 17-19 and the first reading of a no parking ordinance for no parking at the Lincoln Elementary pick up and drop off zone. Tonight’s meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at the Washington Public Library.
