Fresh off a triangular win Tuesday in Kalona, the Washington Demon girls’ golf team returned to the greens Thursday in Burlington. The Demons made the trip to Flint Hills Golf Course for a dual meet against the Greyhounds. Washington had four golfers card nine hole scores under 50 strokes, winning the meet 171-213.
Sophomore Sarah Nacos led the way by shooting a two under 34, earning the meet medalist honors. Senior Deanna Peiffer recorded a four over 40 for the half round. Sophomore Megan Strabala shot a 48, while senior Brenna Burlingame finished one stroke behind Strabala to round out Washington’s scoring.
The Demons’ scratch scores included sophomore Allison Vogel shooting a 56 and freshman Carly Burlingame carding a 68.
Washington returns to the course Monday, hosting the Mount Pleasant Panthers in a Southeast Conference dual.
