A field maintenance plan for Case Field was approved by the Washington School Board at their recent meeting. Superintendent Jeff Dicks gave a recommendation to only do work on the football game field the first year and then look at adding fields later if they like the work.
The contract is for $16,725 is with Krafka, a lawn and landscape and sports turf company out of Solon. The first year the money for the work will come from the PPEL fund. The contract includes mowing, aeration, fertilization, weed control and more.
School board member Troy Suchan said to communicate clearly with coaches when they won’t be able to use the field so that the grass can become established. The contract was approved unanimously by the five board members in attendance.
