With spring around the corner, those planning flower gardens are anxious to get outside and get to work. Marianne Reha-Van Roekel with Reha Greenhouses says it’s important not to get too early of a start. She suggests waiting until the start of April to prepare beds. She suggests cutting back dead vegetation, uncovering your roses, and cleaning up all of the old vegetation. She says it’s probably too early and too wet to be working the soil. That should wait until mid-April. With respect to what to plant, Reha-Van Roekel says, “Drama is in. Use plants of varying heights, bold colors, and textures.”
