A Sigourney senior is getting a chance to continue playing football in college. Lane Boender was one of 35 football players from the state of Iowa to sign a letter of intent with the Ellsworth Community College Panthers.
Boender is expected to compete for a linebacker position on the Panther’s football team. His senior season for the Cobras included 84.5 total tackles, tops on the team and third most in Class 1A District 6. Boender also recorded six and a half tackles for loss.
Ellsworth Community College is based in Iowa Falls. The Panthers finished 7-5 overall last season, winning their final six games.
