This season, former Mid-Prairie and Lone Tree head boys basketball coach Don Showalter reached the 600 career win milestone.

Showalter, the current head coach of the Iowa City, City High Little Hawks boys basketball team collected his 600th win on Tuesday, February 16th with a 62-44 win over Dubuque Senior.

Showalter has an overall record of 601-346. He has spent time as the head coach of Lone Tree, Central Elkader, Mid-Prairie and City High, with a majority of his career total coming at his alma mater Mid-Prairie where he accumulated an overall record of 441-183. Showalter guided the Golden Hawks to five state tournament appearances as a head coach, finishing as state runners-up in 2007.
