The Mid-Prairie girls basketball team received accolades last week from the River Valley Conference.
Three members of this year’s team were awarded all-conference honors. Golden Hawk senior Alex Rath was a first team all-south division selection. Rath averaged 10 points per game for the Hawks. Rath led Mid-Prairie and the RVC South with her 74 assists. Her 58 steals were fifth best in the conference. Rath was the Golden Hawks leading scorer in their state quarterfinal game in Des Moines, posting 17 against Center Point-Urbana.
Junior Ali Butters was also a first team all-south division selection. Butters was Mid-Prairie’s leading scorer and seventh in the RVC South at 12 points per game. She had 32 assists, 43 steals, and 85 rebounds on the year.
Sophomore Addison Rath was an honorable mention all-south division selection. Rath was the second leading scorer for the Golden Hawks this year and seventh in the conference at 11 and a half points per contest. Her 59 steals were fifth in the RVC South. Rath also pulled in 121 rebounds, 10th most in the conference.
The Golden Hawks ended their season at 16-9 following a loss in the state quarterfinals to No. 2 Center Point-Urbana 48-43. This was Mid-Prairie’s first trip to the state tournament since 2013.
