The Southeast Conference bowling season concludes this afternoon in Washington. Lebowski’s Rock N Bowl are hosting this year’s girls’ and boys’ league meet, featuring bowlers from Washington, Mount Pleasant, Fairfield and Keokuk. This meet will determine the conference team champion, and will award all-conference honors to the top 12 bowlers in each age division.

The Washington Demon boys’ bowling team enters the final conference competition off an improved season, winning five of their 10 meets this season. Five of the six bowlers have dropped over 2,500 pins this year. Junior Collin Zear, a second team all-conference bowler last season, leads the team with 2,906 pins scored.

The Demon girls’ bowling team will compete in the league meet with three bowlers. Sophomore AnnaMarie Walter leads Washington with 2,044 dropped.

This marks the final meet before the Demon bowlers enter postseason play. They will compete in the Class 1A District 5 meet Tuesday at Excit-a-bowl in Pella.

First pins of today’s Southeast Conference meet are set to drop at 1 p.m. at Lebowski’s Rock N Bowl. Tune into Monday’s sports page for full results of the meet.
