Washington County ranked 22nd in Iowa’s 99 counties in this year’s deer harvest. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says Washington County hunters harvested 1,518 deer in 2015. Of that, 719 were does, with 799 bucks being harvested. The state reported 105,399 deer harvested total. Also released in the report were the wild turkey harvest numbers. Washington County hunters harvested a total of 64 wild turkeys in 2015.
