A popular New Year’s resolution is to read more books. This, like many New Year’s goals, often falls by the wayside without any accountability. For those who want their resolution to stick the Last Tuesday Book Club in Kalona may help. The club picks a book to read every month except for the months of June, July, August, and December. Erin Silva of the Kalona Public Library says, she is always amazed by the books the group chooses. They pick anything and everything from classics, to recent books both fiction and non-fiction.

All book group meetings are held on the last Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m., or there is also a daytime meeting the following day at 12:30 p.m. The group is open to anyone and there is no need to sign up. This months book is Don’t Let’s Go to the Dogs Tonight: An African Childhood by: Alexandra Fuller.
