The first home shoot of the new year for the Washington Demon archery teams saw the high school squad hit over 100 bullseyes The Demon high school, middle school, and Lincoln Elementary teams hosted archers from Solon High School, Prairie Point Middle School, and Fairfield Community Schools Saturday morning.

The high school squad combined to score 106 bulleyes, posting a meet best score of 3,205. Senior Joseph Dalziel recorded the top individual score for the Demons, posting a 279 out of a possible 300 points. Dalziel’s scoring included 15 bulleyes. Freshman Hannah Frame was the top female archer for Washington, scoring 274 with 10 bulleyes.

The middle school group was split into two teams. Team 1 posted a score of 3,063, while team 2 scored 2,685 points. Eighth grader Samantha Mellinger placed first among the 28 person middle school girls field, recording 271 points and nine bullseyes.

The Lincoln Elementary team competed amongst themselves, ending the shoot with 2,748. Fifth grader Curtis Stender shot a 251, placing 1st for elementary boys.

The Demon archers will travel to Solon High School for a shoot this weekend. First flights are set for 9 a.m.
