Temperatures dropped below zero over the weekend. On Sunday, thermometers in Washington read as low as six degrees below zero with highs only reaching five degrees. The National Weather Service issued a wind chill advisory for the KCII listening area Monday morning, with wind chills cold enough to cause frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin. Sunday evening wind gusts at the Washington Municipal Airport reached 28 miles per hour shortly before 6 p.m.
