Following the Keota School Board’s decision last month to end superintendent sharing with Mid-Prairie, some on the Mid-Prairie school board have concerns. The concerns are about the other sharing agreements between the two schools. Currently the agreement calls for Keota to share one teacher and for Mid-Prairie to share six teachers. The sharing has been mutually beneficial according to Mid-Prairie Superintendent Mark Schneider. Schneider says, he believes because one aspect of the agreement has ended it is only natural for the board to be concerned about the others. Schneider notes he believes the sharing will go forward in some way and the school is already looking for ways to absorb the $52,000 hit to the budget due to the superintendent agreement ending.
