A man has been arrested and faces charges, stemming from a fatal car wreck in Washington County. On Monday afternoon, 33-year-old Jon Paul Jorge Noivo of Fairfield was arrested and charged with homicide by vehicle – operating under the influence and involuntary manslaughter.

At approximately 6 a.m. July 8th, 2015, as heard live on KCII from the scene, a Cadillac Escalade traveling in the southbound lanes of Highway 218 wrecked when the driver, Noivo, lost control. The vehicle entered the median and Noivo over-corrected, causing it to roll into the west ditch, just north of G36. According to the Iowa State Patrol, 24-year-old Wendy Ann Lane Littrell of Fairfield, a passenger, was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. She died at the scene.

Noivo was taken to the Washington County Jail and his preliminary hearing has been set for January 21st.
