An illegal substance was found in the Highland High School parking lot triggering a campus wide non-emergency
classroom hold. During the hold the school staff and law enforcement with K9 officers swept the campus for illegal substances. Principle Angela Hazelett told KCII “This was a non-emergency situtaion and classes went on as planned just with movement in the school restricted. The sweep took about an hour and a half. Nothing was found in the school, but its so important to have seaches like this ensure that we have a safe educational environment.”
