An annual fundraising event for the Keokuk County Hospice Auxiliary is coming up. It’s the annual Tree of Memories.

Each year the auxiliary places a tree in the windows of the John Ware law office in downtown Sigourney, then decorates the tree with small handmade Christmas tree ornaments, each dedicated to the memory of someone of the donor’s choice.

Coming up on December 2nd, the auxiliary will hold a tree lighting ceremony at the courthouse. During the ceremony those in attendance gather in the courthouse rotunda for a small ceremony of remembrance, then go outside to light a decorated tree.
