Despite taking a step back in the win/loss column this fall, the Sigourney Savages were well represented on this year’s South Iowa Cedar League volleyball team. The Savages had five players recognized for their efforts on the court, one named a first team all-conference, two named to the second team, and a pair recognized as honorable mention selections.
The Savages’ lone first-team all-conference player is senior Sierra Davis. Davis capped off her high school volleyball career with a team-high 239 kills, the fourth most among players in the South Iowa Cedar League.
Sigourney had two second team all-conference performers. Sophomore Leah Carter made the squad as a setter. She facilitated 482 points for the Savages this fall, second most in the league. Junior Anna Ohland has been recognized as a second team all-conference hitter, and made an impact offensively for the Savages. Ohland recorded 120 kills, the second most on the squad, while smashing 22 aces, the fourth most on the team.
Senior Stacy Mohr and sophomore Brooke Waechter represented the Savages as all-conference honorable mention selections.
The Savages ended their season 10-16 overall, a two win regression from last season.
