An event that signals the unofficial kickoff of the winter sports season is the Mid-Prairie girls basketball jamboree.

This year’s event will be held Thursday, November 19th at Tim Grady Gymnasium in Wellman. Area teams participating include Washington, Iowa Mennonite School, Highland and Mid-Prairie. On the night, Washington will open action when they take on Clear Creek Amana at 5:30. IMS squares off with North Cedar at 7PM and Highland and Mid-Prairie will match up in the night cap. Games will consist of one half of play.
