The annual Halloween Hike held by the Louisa County Conservation Department was another big success.
Nearly 400 people took the hike, which featured appearances by super heroes including Spiderman and Ironman. Participants also learned about local wildlife like bald eagles and hummingbirds.
As we get closer to Halloween several area communities have scheduled trick- or-treat times. Trick-or-treat in Kalona is set for October 29th, in Keota the time set aside is October 30th from 5 to 7 p.m. Communities holding trick-or-treat on Halloween include Riverside from 6 to 8 p.m. Wellman from 5 to 7 p.m. and Wayland from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Drivers are urged to be extra careful during these hours.
