The Washington County Board of Supervisors discussed and took action on the health insurance plan for county employees Tuesday morning. With a unanimous vote the supervisors approved the renewal of the same plan with Wellmark as the third party administrator. It was explained that there will be no increase to premiums. There is one minor change where lab work will now be covered at 100 percent for plans one and two, instead of 90 percent. In addition, the county is self-funded for insurance and the current balance is at almost $1.7 million, which is the cause for the freeze of premiums for the next year.
