Many volunteers help Washington County’s 4-H program and the 4-H Youth Committee is looking for new members to start in January of 2016. This 17-member volunteer adult group meets monthly to review and plan events for the county. Many members of the 4-H Youth Committee were 4-H members as students and want to stay involved as adults. The group helps with registrations, set up, meal preparation, time keeping and supervision of the groups. They also evaluate the rule book, support leaders, recruit new members and create partnerships with businesses.

Community members who want to help Washington County 4-H with their marketing and event planning skills, community connections or interest in youth development are asked to contact the Washington County Extension Office at 319-653-4811. The new members will start in January for a three year term.

Current 4-H Youth Committee members include Kerri Bell, Suzanne Black, Kathleen Brinning, John Carter, Lisa Clark, Brandi Dawson, Jodi Ebert, Andy Eichelberger, Tabitha Hahn, John Palmer, Matthew Pemberton, Robert Sandburg, Brent Schneider, Brian Sieren, Nicole Stoutner, Tad Tebockhorst, Julie Vogel, and Verlin Yoder.
