The newest signal caller for the Washington Demon (2-1 overall; 1-0 Southeast) football team has made quite an impression through the first three games of his varsity football career. A running back on last year’s Demon freshman team, sophomore quarterback Ryan Reighard has made the biggest impact this season with his legs.

Reighard heads into the week as the Class 3A District 5’s top rusher, rushing for 414 yards in the first 12 quarters of the 2015 campaign. He also leads the district with six rushing touchdowns.

The sophomore broke out Friday versus the Clear Creek Amana Clippers, recording 206 yards on 22 carries, scoring two touchdowns in a 28-7 triumph.

Reighard and the entire Demon rushing attack could be in for a big night this Friday when Washington travels to Fairfield to face the Trojans. The Trojans have given up 656 yards and 85 points in losses to Albia and Knoxville the last two weeks.

Kickoff from Fairfield High School is set for 7:30 p.m. Our coverage begins with the Washington Hy-Vee Pregame show at 7 p.m. on FM 106.1 and KCIIRadio.com.
