A much improved 2015 season for the Winfield-Mount Union baseball team (14-12) helped two Wolves players receive high honors from the coaches of the Southeast Iowa Super Conference. Juniors Matthew Niebuhr and Ross Vantiger represent the Wolves on the first team all-conference squad.

Neibuhr was selected as an outfielder. He posted the second best batting average in the conference (.416), led the team in home runs (2) and walks forced (19), tied for the team lead in doubles (6), and was second on the team in total hits (32) and stolen bases (21).

Vantiger made the squad as a utility player. He led the team in runs batted in (25), stolen bases (23), and tied for the team lead in doubles (6). He also finished second on the team in batting average (.400), and slugging percentage (.538).

Three Wolves were second team all-conference selections. Juniors Darren Hunter and Sam Jennings both made the second team all-conference squad as infielders while Christian Fenton made the team as a utility player.

Senior Thayne McElhinney and junior Garret Baker were named all-conference honorable mentions.

W-MU finished the season 14-12, a six win improvement from last season, and ended the year in sixth place in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North standings with a record of 10-8.
