Training for those interested in helping a local hospice is being held next month. Iowa City Hospice is holding the 14 hours of training required by Medicare August 19th through August 21st at the Coralville Library.

According to the non-profit, the three sessions will prepare volunteers for the challenges and rewards of working with people at the end of life. The hospice is active in Kalona, regularly holding bereavement luncheons at the Kalona Bakery for residents who are dealing with the loss of a loved one.
