The second best team in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North softball standings is well represented on this year’s all-conference squad. The Wapello Arrows had five senior athletes named first team All-SEISC performers, three second team all-conference selections, and one all-conference honorable mention choice.

Highlighting the Arrow’s selections is senior pitcher Allison Klenk, who was the only Wapello softball player to earn a unanimous first team all-conference selection. Klenk led the SEISC in strike outs (169) and the lowest opponent batting average (.146). She also finished second in the conference in innings pitched (150) and earned run average (1.63).

Klenk’s catcher, senior Sydney Reed, joins her on the first team all-conference squad. Defensively, Reid was second in the conference in fielding percentage (.996), and number of girls thrown out trying to steal (9).

Two-fifth’s of the first team all-conference infield is comprised of Arrow senior, including Ashley Hahnbaum, and Josie Carpenter. Hahnbaum and Carpenter finished first and second on the team respectively in runs scored (Hahnbaum 30; Carpenter 29). Hahnbaum also leads the Arrow’s in home runs (7), walks forced (22), and stolen bases (12). Carpenter leads the squad in total hits (34) and doubles (10).

Rounding out Wapello’s first team all-conference selections is senior Kristen Keen as an outfielder. Keen led the Arrows in runs batted in (25), second on the team in home runs (5), walks forced (11) and tied for second in doubles (6).

Three Arrow underclassman made the All-SEISC second team including: freshman Eliza Noa, freshman Addisyn Lolling and eighth grader Emma Reid. Noa and Lolling were chosen as a second team all-conference infielders, while Reid made the squad as an outfielder.

The Arrows’ lone honorable mention selection was given to eighth grader Baylee Reid. Wapello finished the 2015 season 24-7 overall, finishing second in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North standings with a record of 13-3.
