Anyone interested in helping a local family with the renovation of their Habitat for Humanity home has an opportunity this weekend. Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity is holding a work day from 8 a.m to noon tomorrow at the home located at 121 A Avenue in Kalona.

According to the organization’s resource development director, Laura Shoemaker, since an electrician will be working inside the home, volunteers will help outside with yard work and landscaping. She says all the necessary tools and safety gear will provided, but she advises volunteers to wear closed toe shoes.

Work on the donated home that was relocated from rural Tiffin has been ongoing for months.
