It was a rough night on the diamond for the Washington Demon softball team (2-15 overall) Thursday. The Demons hosted the Fort Madison Bloodhounds (8-11 overall) in a Southeast Conference showdown at Washington’s softball complex.
After competitive losses to the Bloodhounds earlier this month in Fort Madison, Washington scored a single run in the doubleheader, falling 14-0 in game one in six innings and 13-1 in game two.
The Demons scattered six hits between the pair of games, scoring their lone run on a Brook Stout single to plate Morgan Brinning.
The losses drop the Demons to 2-15 overall, and keeps Washington winless in Southeast Conference play. Washington returns to the field on Monday in a pair of Southeast Conference tilts against the No. 14 Fairfield Trojans (13-5 overall).
