The schedule didn’t any easier for the Washington Demon softball team (1-12 overall) on Friday afternoon in Fairfield. The Demons competed against the No. 7 New London Tigers of Class 1A during a tournament game yesterday in Fairfield. The Demons were held off the scoreboard, falling 7-0 to the Tigers.

Washington freshman Morgan Brinning recorded the only two hits of the game, a pair of singles in the setback. Junior Mackenzie Knutson, sophomore Jessie Buchholz, freshman Megan Mitchell each forces a walk for the Demons.

10 of Washington’s 12 losses on the diamond this season have come against ranked opponents.

Washington continues tournament play today in Faifield before returning to regular season competition on Thursday against Fort Madison.
