A Columbus Junction man’s first degree murder trial is scheduled for October. Oscar Jimenez is accused of causing the death of his four-month old daughter, who passed away on January 24th, four days after being admitted to the hospital for severe head trauma.
The 20-year-old is charged with murder in the first-degree, a felony that carries a mandatory life sentence, child endangerment resulting in death and multiple acts of child endangerment. A plea of not guilty was filed in February. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for November 11th.
The defendant’s trial is set to begin October 6th.
