A concern for confined animal feeding operations near Lake Darling was expressed at Tuesday’s Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting. Lyle Stacy with Friends of Lake Darling shared concerns of possible feeding operations being constructed near the state park. In a letter issued by the organization, the potential degrading effects on water and air quality on the Lake Darling watershed are concerns. Stacy mentioned E. Coli as one issue that could hurt the lake environmentally and the area economically. Stacy asked the board of supervisors to consider the sensitivity of the lake should these projects occur.
