Next weekend, residents of Iowa will be able to go fishing for free. The state’s annual free fishing days are being held June 5th, 6th, and 7th. This three-day event allows Iowans to fish without a license. Steve Anderson, director of Washington County Conservation, shares in Washington County the ponds at Schmitter Heritage Area, Thomas Marr Lake and Crawford Pond are the best opportunities for pan-fishing. Also, anglers can now fish at Lake Darling State Park, where catfish, bluegills, carp and largemouth bass can be found.
