Unemployment rates in the KCII listening area dropped from March to April. According to Iowa Workforce Development 500 people were unemployed in Washington County in March and that figure dropped to 400 in April, or 3% of the county was unemployed. The State of Iowa’s unemployment rate fell slightly during the same time period from 4% to 3.8%.

Henry, Iowa, Jefferson, Johnson, Keokuk and Louisa counties all had declines in unemployment from March to April.
