For a third straight season, Lone Tree junior Paige Doehrmann ends her track season competing on Drake Stadium’s blue oval. Doehrmann qualified for three of the Lions’ four events at the Iowa Girls and Boys High School Track Meet 2015 in Des Moines as a member of the 4×100 meter relay team, the 800 sprint medley team, and individually in the 400 meter dash.
The crew of sophomore Madison Forbes, sophomore Elena Sieverding, senior Nattie Attig, and Doehrmann make up both state bound relay teams after fast performances in the Class 1A District 10 meet last Thursday in Wayland. Their 4×100 meter time of 53.96 seconds makes the cut as the 21st fastest time in the 24 team field. The 800 medley team completed their district race in 1:57.24, the 16th ranked time in the state.
Individually, Doehrmann will compete in the 400 meter dash for a third straight season. She clocked her quarter mile district run at 1:02.29, the second best in the District 10 race but the 11th best time in the state. She finished last year’s state track meet in 15th place, recording a time of 1:02.77.
The first event for the Lone Tree Lions girls’ track team will be Thursday evening at 7 p.m. when Doehrmann competes in the 400 meter dash.
