Home course advantage has been granted to the Sigourney Savage girls’ golf team for the start of postseason play today.The Savages are the host school for the Class 1A Region 3B golf tournament at the Sigourney Golf and Country Club.
Sigourney squares off against fellow South Iowa Cedar League squads Hartwick-Ladora-Victor (HLV), English Valleys, Lynnville-Sully, Montezuma, Moravia, and North Mahaska for two spots in the regional final golf meet May 26 at the Marengo Golf Course.
This marks the first 18-hole event of the season for the Savage girls’ golf team. Sigourney has the sixth best nine-hole average in the Class 1A, completing half a round of golf in just under 200 strokes (199.88). Sophomore Kendall Streigle has posted the Savage’s lowest nine-hole average of the season, posting a median score of 48.13. She has metaled in two separate meets this spring. Junior Stacy Mohr is averaging 49.4 strokes per nine holes this spring.
