The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys’ soccer team will host a four-team tournament today with Washington (2-6), Fairfield (6-5) and Cedar Valley Christian (5-5) participating.

The Golden Hawks are coming off of a 4-0 win over Monticello with two of those goals coming from senior Jordan Ulin, who leads the team with seven goals so far this season. Sophomore goalkeeper Nathan Reed has stepped up on defense giving up just four goals over the past four games.

Washington’s offense has clicked the past two games with nine goals total. Senior Joe Smith leads the Demons with four goals. Washington is 2-0 when they don’t give up a goal and 0-6 if they give up at least one goal in the game.

Fairfield comes in scoring 24 goals in the past four games, thanks in large part to junior Solomon Constant. He leads the state in goals with 30 scored, better than any other scorer by six goals.

Cedar Valley Christian comes in on a four-game winning streak and is led by junior Joey Phillip with nine goals on the season.

Mid-Prairie will play Cedar Valley Christian at 10 a.m. with Washington battling Fairfield at the same time. There will be a consolation game and championship game to follow. Games will take place at the Wellman Recreation Complex.
